What began in 2007 as a modest lawn care service under the name ARKScapes quickly became something greater. Matt Gates, the founder, poured his time and energy into the business—often juggling multiple jobs and working 80- to 90-hour weeks—to support his growing family and help his wife through nursing school. Even in those early days, Matt’s passion for serving others and building something meaningful drove every decision he made.

By 2012, Matt took a leap of faith and dedicated himself to ARKScapes full-time. This decision opened the door for growth, and the company steadily expanded its offerings beyond basic lawn care. With a strong work ethic and a reputation for doing things right, ARKScapes laid the foundation for what would become ARK Design + Build.

In 2020, the business officially rebranded to reflect its broader scope. Today, ARK Design + Build is a full-service design and construction company offering everything from interior and exterior remodeling to landscape lighting and hardscape design. The name may have changed, but the mission remains the same: to deliver high-quality work with honesty, integrity, and a focus on people.
